SEC Co-Players of the Week – Kentucky’s Renee Abernathy, a senior outfielder from Springfield, Ill., hit a home run in every game this week as Kentucky played No. 1 Oklahoma and won its series with No. 18 Auburn. Abernathy became the third player to hit a home run off of Jordy Bahl this season and then had walk-off homers against Auburn on Friday and Sunday to help seal the series. She hit .500 on the week with 12 RBI, six hits and five runs scored.
Mississippi State’s Addison Purvis, a sophomore utility from Sullivan, Mo., batted .750 with six hits, two runs scored and seven RBI in a 3-0 week for the Bulldogs. At Memphis, she went 2-for-2 with a pair of home runs to help her squad set the single-game home run record with six on the night. In the two games against Samford, she went 4-for-6 with three doubles and two RBI.
SEC Pitcher of the Week – Ole Miss’ Anna Borgen, a senior left-hander from Heath, Texas, earned two wins in the circle to help the Rebels claim the series sweep over No. 21/19 Missouri. It marked Ole Miss’ first conference sweep against a ranked opponent since 2017. Borgen held her opponent to a .161 batting average and posted a 0.78 ERA in 9.0 innings pitched.
SEC Freshman of the Week – Arkansas’ Kacie Hoffman, an outfielder/designated player from Elkhorn, Neb., paced the Razorbacks offensively with team-highs in batting average (.625) and on-base percentage (.625) to power Arkansas to its third consecutive series victory over No. 22 LSU. For the series, Hoffman recorded five hits, three RBI, one run scored and a .750 slugging percentage.
