Player of the Week: Brayden Jobert, LSU
LSU’s Brayden Jobert hit .500 (8-for-16) on the week with one double, one triple, five homers and 13 RBI to help lead the Tigers to a 4-0 week, including a sweep of Vanderbilt. In the Vanderbilt series, he hit .500 (6-for-12) with one double, one triple, three homers and 10 RBI. in Sunday’s win that clinched the No. 4 seed in the SEC Tournament for the Tigers, Jobert tied the LSU single-game record for RBI with nine, as he blasted a grand slam, a three-run homer and a two-run double.
Pitcher of the Week: Chase Dollander, Tennessee
Tennessee’s Chase Dollander helped lead Tennessee to a series-opening win at Mississippi State Thursday night. He held a no-hitter through six innings but was removed from the game after a 7-run top half of the inning. Dollander struck out six and lowered his NCAA-leading WHIP to 0.72. He was the only pitcher in the conference to give up less than three hits and go more than 5 innings in the conference.
Freshman of the Week: Brandon Neely, Florida
Florida’s Brandon Neely pitched 7.0 shutout innings with just three hits allowed to earn the win vs. South Carolina on Friday. He struck out a career-high 10 batters with no walks and held the Gamecocks to a .125 batting average. Neely issued zero walks and hit zero batters, allowing just three baserunners all game.
